Christine
Now, before you stop reading [or skim over], just hear me out. Please?
You probably know what your physical heart is - I don't doubt that.

But do you know how important it is and what God created it for?

A women's heart is tender and made to love. Not only to love, but to take care of others.

If the key to a man's heart is his stomach, than I believe the key to a woman's heart should be God.

As humans, we need to be needed. We need to be loved. God created us like this — His great design. Sometimes I feel like we [as girls] are ashamed of wanting someone to need and love us — we feel like a true woman should be liberated and independent. But that is false.
That is not how God made the majority of women.

Sure, I admit, it is nice to take charge of situations and be independent. And I would agree with you, if you said, "It all depends on the type of person you are."
However, no matter what you say or who you are, there will always be that void of tender longing, just waiting to be filled. Fist and foremost, it should be filled with the Lord.
His intention is also for us to be loved and appreciated by our families.

God knows us more than we know ourselves - He knows our secret desires, longings, hopes, and dreams. As Psalm 44:21 says, "Would not God have discovered it, since he knows the secrets of the heart?"

Most importantly, He knows what our hearts need.

When our hearts seek the Lord (and find Him), 1 Chronicles 16:10 says, "Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice".

Nobody wants to feel the pang of heartache.
Believe it or not, it is avoidable.

God wants to be our first love. He wants to fill the void in our hearts. He wants us to need Him and He will need us. He always loves us, but when we start loving Him more, we are able to feel His love more.

Basically, we should keep our hearts focused on the Lord -- He'll take care of us. Don't worry. He did create the world after all.

Girls, we don't need to be independent to be successful. As Christians, we should be dependent on God alone.
He is our rock and our firm foundation. Deuteronomy 32:4 says, "He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he".

The heart is a very important part of our body. It also happens to be vital to our spiritual, emotional, and physical health... and it needs to be protected.

But that's Monday's post...

If you have anything to add, please comment. We always love to hear what you have to say.

Blessings,
Christine

That was really good, Christine. God is the only one who can truly satisfy our hearts' desires. Anything/anyone else will eventually let us down. So thanks for posting on this!
